"The study of the human form is truly a journey into creative understanding and interpretation. By studying, sketching, and painting the figure, I follow a path of discovery and appreciation for beauty, expression and human emotion. My figure and portrait paintings are visual journals: culminations of creative excursions, chosen pathways, and notes-to-self along the way. My landscape, seascape, and city scape paintings are the outgrowth of my own experiments with strong composition, neutralized colors, and dramatic value arrangements. Primarily painted en plein air, they demonstrate my appreciation for the merger of the natural and the built environment."
